Strong Field at this Year's Los Angeles Athletic Club United States Men & Women's Professional Squash Championships

No less than twelve current or former national, international, Pan Am or intercollegiate champions will participate at this year’s Epstein Becker & Green United States Men & Women’s USSRA Professional Squash Championships being held at The Los Angeles Athletic Club over the weekend of June 24-26, 2005. The event is being presented by: Robert A. Day; the Robin A. Sateriale Foundation, co-sponsored by Feather Sports USA, JIVAGO International Fragrances, Cooper's Australian Beer, Super Shuttle, and Squash Design, "official clothing supplier to the pros."

Outstanding players committed to play, (in alphabetical order) include: Stefan Casteleyn, former Belgian champion; Patrick Chifunda, former Zambian champion; Natalie Grainger, former South African champion and current world-ranked #5; Mark Heather, 2005 National USSRA 25+ champion; Latasha Khan, six-time and current USSRA national champion; Shabana Khan, former USSRA national champion; Lily Lorentzen, current USSRA national under 19 champion; Sally Norgate, former two-time Canadian junior national champion; Emily Park, current USSRA national under 15 champion; Meredeth Quick, former intercollegiate national champion; Dan Sharplin, 2002 New Zealand national champion and Chris Walker, former world #4 and UK national champion.

Challenging the above field will be: Dana Betts, 2001 Pan Am team member; Mike Corren, winner of 17 PSA events; Imran Khan, 24 year-old Pakistani native; Clive Leach, 2004 EBG semi-finalist; Julie Lilien, 2004 national 35+ champion; Muhammad Sadiq, 2005 national 30+ semi-finalist; Amanda Siebert, U.S. world junior team member and Karim Yehia, outstanding Egyptian player from New York.

Look and ask for the unique amateur application fliers at your local club, which have pictures and bios of each of the above-named players, detailed tournament information and your application for entering the tournament. As an amateur player, you will be guaranteed two matches, given a souvenir shirt, food & beverage throughout the weekend, discounted parking, an outstanding Saturday evening banquet and guaranteed seating for all professional matches. WARNING…only 48 amateur applications will be accepted for this event…first come first served. So…get your entry applications in early. The deadline is Friday June 17th!
